Paganel School were funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund to record, document and catalogue the history of their school and it’s community of Weoley Castle in 2011. They worked with the Education & Outreach team at Birmingham Archives & Heritage to develop the skills needed to collect and preserve their archive and to make it accessible to the whole community, now and into the future. This was a two year funded project led by project manager Marcus Belben and Deputy Head Teacher Steve Philp, and established the first UK ARCHON registered repository archive in a state primary school.
Archive After-School Club has been running since October 2012 to manage the Archive – cataloguing, conserving, assessing and registering new deposits to the Archive, documenting and contributing to Paganel School history. The club makes Paganel Archives accessible to the public.
